  HOW TO HELP

Take a minute to read a few of the statistics to the right from the U.S. Department of Justice - Bureau of Justice Statistics.

Are you comfortable with the probability that you, your children, relatives, or friends might spend time in jail?

If these statistics on incarceration bother you so would the statistics on the victims. Most offenders commit multiple crimes before arrest.

Restorative Justice is not about being kind to law breakers but helping law breakers change and not make the same mistakes twice or enter that revolving door. It is also about assisting the victim of the crime and others that were impacted.

There are many social issues that people and organizations discuss and make an effort to improve but working in the criminal justice system is generally not one of them. Not until you or someone you care about becomes part of these statistics (offender or victim) and then your world changes.
