Restorative Justice Community is a continually evolving suite of integrated web-based tools that you can use to build community capacity for prisoner re-entry and restorative justice.
Restorative Justice Community (RJC) builds capacity and improves outcomes in offender re-entry and restorative justice through technology. There are countless government agencies, faith based organizations, community organizations, leaders, mentors, workers, and programs working for restorative justice and prisoner re-entry. Each has invaluable experience and expertise. Restorative Justice Community provides the technology framework to allow these organizations to work together to build a sustainable infrastructure to achieve more and serve more.
Re-entry programs began with aftercare efforts when offenders were released back to the community. Then re-entry programs were organized during incarceration and before release. Restorative Justice Community provides a technology framework that integrates pre-release programs and post release programs and connects each with community.
No single organization, ministry, or government agency can provide all the services needed for re-entry and there is no sustainability without community. Isolated re-entry initiatives demonstrate to local and state government that good re-entry programs do in fact reduce recidivism.
However, isolated re-entry initiatives are not a solution they are only a model to demonstrate that a solution is feasible if we can extend the model across states and nations. This can only be achieved if:
- We have a replicable technology framework
- We (faith, community, and government) work and build together
- We replicate best practices in weeks not years
- We collaboratively engage other sectors including workforce development, homeless coalitions, veteran administrations, etc
Our tools establish a framework and enable infrastructure to achieve the above. |
